How To Set Up A Facebook Fan Page

For those of you who have not jumped on the Social Media band wagon or perhaps have experienced it only on a personal level, every business can benefit in some way by having a Facebook Fan Page.

You may have heard experts say that if you are not on Social Media, your business is doomed in some way.  Perhaps this is not the exact wording, but many experts “live by” Social Media.  Yet, while it is true that Google now gives favor and credit to sites who are integrated with Social Media, there are certain types of businesses who do very well with Social Media.  The entertainment business is an example of a business that can do well using Facebook or other social platforms.

When you look at Facebook parallel to the real world, Facebook is a gathering place where people meet online to discuss the current happenings.  Just as you can meet in a coffee shop or park or other public place, you can meet up on Facebook and share current events.

When it comes to your business, you can use your Facebook to “be social,” if you will with customers.  While you may not be in the entertainment business, you can benefit from a Facebook Fan page.  It is simple to set up.  However, you would not depend on this as your main source of traffic or business.  It is only one of many mediums you can use to generate business.

Set Up Your Facebook Page

  1. Go to and log in.
  2. Then go to the Create a Page
  3. The page displays six boxes of categories. Select your business type and a registration form will pop-up inside the box you select.
  4. Select your business category from the drop-down field in the form and complete all of your business Details.
  5. Click the “Get Started” button
  6. Facebook will provide you with remaining steps after this.
